Kirche in Heisdorf / Eglise à Heisdorf
Eine Kapelle in Heisdorf ist erstmalig im Jahre 1570 schriftlich belegt. Weil sie zu klein und von bescheidenem künstlerischem Wert war, kam im Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts die Idee eines Kirchen-Neubaus auf. Im Jahre 1905 stellte der in Amerika ausgewanderte Heisdorfer Bernard Tonnar Geldmittel für den Neubau einer Kirche in Heisdorf zur Verfügung. Von 1906 bis 1908 wurde die Kirche nach Plänen des Architekten Paul Funck errichtet und am 20. Juli 1908 wurde die neue Kirche vom Stadtdechanten Bernard Haal eingesegnet. Sie wurde unter den Schutz der Heiligen Andreas und Donatus gestellt. 
In den fünfziger Jahren erhielt die Kapelle neue Kunstfenster. 1974 wurde sie unter der Leitung des Architekten Carlo Warisse und unter Mitwirken der Künstler Ben Heyart und Pit Nicolas gründlich restauriert. Der aus einem massiven Steinblock bestehende neue Altar wurde am 13. Februar 1977 von Mgr. Jean Hengen, Bischof von Luxemburg, konsekriert. Parce que l’ancienne chapelle était trop exigüe et qu’elle n’avait que peu de valeur artistique, l’idée d’une nouvelle construction fit son chemin et se concrétisa vers le début du 20e siècle. En 1905, l’émigrant américain Bernard Tonnar, originaire de Heisdorf, offrit des moyens financiers pour la construction d’un nouvel édifice. L’église fut construite de 1906 à 1908 suivant les plans de l’architecte Paul Funck, et elle fut consacrée le 20 juillet 1908 par Bernard Haal, curé-doyen de Luxembourg-ville. Elle fut confiée à la protection des saints-patrons André et Donat. Dans les années cinquante, l’église fut dotée de nouveaux vitraux. En 1974, elle fut restaurée de fond en comble sous la direction de l’architecte Carlo Warisse, secondé par les artistes Ben Heyart et Pit Nicolas. Un autel nouveau monolithique fut consacré le 13 février 1977 par Mgr. Jean Hengen, évêque de Luxembourg. The first written trace of a chapel in Heisdorf remounts to the year 1570. As the building was too small and of modest artistic value, the idea of a new construction came up in the early 20th century. In 1905, the American immigrant Bernard Tonnar, who was originary from Heisdorf, offered the funds for the construction of a new church. It was built from 1906 to 1908 according to a design by the architect Paul Funck and consecrated on July 20, 1908, by the dean of Luxembourg City, Bernard Haal. It was placed under the protection of the Saints Andrew and Donatus. In the 1950s, new stained glass windows were placed, and in 1974, a thorough restoration was made, under the lead of the architect Carlo Warisse and with contributions of the artists Ben Heyart and Pitt Nicolas. The new altar was consecrated on February 13, 1977, by Msgr. Jean Hengen, bishop of Luxembourg.
